To My Dear Clients,
In response to Covid-19 / Cornavirus and for the health of my family and the families I serve, I am only offering social distance structured photo sessions for the foreseeable future.
Maybe you’re like me and your desperately seeking some “normalcy”, but you are only willing to return to those things if you can do so mindfully.
I’ve given a great deal of consideration to exactly how I would be able to provide my services to you in the safest way possible during this time… after all, our kids don’t stop growing & changing and I know you want to freeze these moments, too!
So, what’s the answer as it applies to photography? I’ve adapted my offerings and, in working together, I’m confident we can create some amazing portraits for you to look back on fondly. I greatly appreciate your flexibility and look forward to seeing you – at a distance – soon!

What special steps will be taken to help prevent the spread of germs?
How might the session or portraits be a bit different than before?
Why less posed, more lifestyle/candid portraits?
It all comes down to the level of safe of interaction I’m able to give you and your children.
More often than not, with posed portraits the photographer is more directly involved in achieving the final look. Examples include holding your little one & positioning them for their pictures, talking closely with children to help them feel comfortable in front of the camera and basically doing whatever it takes for a smile, demonstrating & posing parents & siblings, adjusting hair, clothing, etc. all to get a more polished final look. As it applies to traditional newborn sessions, these would typically last 3-4 hours and require extremely close contact between the photographer and your family, in particular with your new baby. I would need to spend a significant amount of time swaddling your newborn, soothing them to sleep, and posing them for their pictures, in addition to prepping and posing parents & siblings, all with direct contact. As you can imagine, these type of interactions just aren’t safe enough given the current circumstances.
However, with lifestyle portraiture, the photographer steps back and gives your family space to forget the camera is around and enjoy some moments interacting together. It’s less posed (your kids will love this, and it’s less stress for parents, too!) and perfect for the circumstances we’re under, which is why it’s my primary reason for switching to social distance lifestyle portrait sessions, in lieu of traditional posed sessions, for the foreseeable future.
What will stay the same?
For families I’ve had the pleasure of working with in the past, what absolutely will not change is my commitment to giving your family a personalized experience, from the time you book, to when we meet to capture your moments, all the way to after the session when I’m hand-editing each of your portraits and delivering them to you in a timely manner – nothing about my service in this way will ever change!
